The Woof Walk is our annual fundraiser to support our shelter and the homeless animals in our community. All funds raised from the Woof Walk will be used for animal health care and veterinarian costs. Participants can fundraise by collecting online donations on CanadaHelps or by collecting using our printable pledge form. Feel free to build a team with family and friends - and most importantly have fun! We are aiming to raise $25,000 with your help. Let's make this our best "Woof Walk" yet!
Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Alliston & District Humane Society Shelter for a fun-filled day. The walk will wrap around our ponds and all across our beautiful property.
Registration begins at 11am with the walk getting underway at 11:30am.
Enjoy these amazing activities at the event:
There are two options for trails that you can walk at the event, depending on your ability or preference! We have an easier 1km trail or a more difficult 3 km trail that wraps around our pond. Please be advised that our trails have uneven terrain; therefore, it is advised that you bring proper walking shoes. Strollers and wagons are welcome but may be difficult to manage on our longer trail, especially if the wheels are not designed to handle uneven ground.

Meet Champ — now known as Lobo — a true underdog story with a beautiful new beginning.
Like so many of the dogs who come through our doors, Champ arrived as a stray. With the alarming number of abandoned and unclaimed dogs we are seeing, his story is, sadly, not unique — he is just one of many who have been left to fend for themselves.
Champ came to us as a Bradford pound dog after spending several days on the run, surviving all on his own. Scared and unsure, he kept returning to one kind person’s yard, slowly building trust until he was finally brought to safety. No one ever came forward to claim him.
When Champ first arrived, it was clear he had likely never experienced life indoors. He was anxious, pacing, and had no idea how to walk on a leash — everything was new and overwhelming. Our team made sure he got the care he needed, including being fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, setting him up for a fresh start.
And then, everything changed!
One day, a wonderful supporter stopped by with donations, spotted Champ outside, and instantly fell in love. It was meant to be. She knew he was hers — and just like that, Champ found his forever home.
Now going by Lobo, he is living his absolute best life — safe, comfortable, and so incredibly loved. From abandoned and alone to cherished and home at last —Lobo is proof that every dog deserves a second chance.
But Champ’s journey only happened because of supporters like you. Every dollar raised through the Woof Walk goes directly toward helping animals just like Champ — animals who’ve been hurt, abandoned, or forgotten, and who just need a second chance. Your support funds medical care, food, training, safe shelter, and most importantly, hope.
Please join us. Whether you walk, donate, or help fundraise — you are part of something truly meaningful. Together, we can make sure no animal is left behind.
