Alliston & District Humane Society is in desperate need of new foster homes for dogs: small dogs, big dogs, medical fosters for dogs requiring medication, and fosters for whelping moms and puppies.
Fosters must have the room for a foster dog, be able to drive and live within communiting distance of Alliston, so that dogs can come to vet appointments. Experience with pregnant moms and puppies is a must to foster a pregnant dog.
If you are someone willing to take on this role and willing to give these dogs a fighting chance, please apply to be a foster now!! All medical costs will be paid for by the shelter, and all food and supplies that are needed to care for these dogs will be provided.
Please help us save lives by opening your hearts and homes to these wonderful dogs and help them become ready to go to their forever new home!! Foster homes not only spare animals from the stress of confinement in a kennel, but also provide them with a loving home environment and socialization, which makes them more adoptable.
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent for our amazing dogs, please fill out the application on this page. We are compiling a list of new foster homes to allow us to move dogs to foster quickly when necessary. Please state a preference if you have one: small dogs, medical dogs, etc.
We provide the food, YOU provide the love. A foster home provides one of our animals with a temporary home where it can feel like a valued family member. Foster homes not only spare animals from the stress of confinement in a cage in our shelter, but also provides them with a loving home environment and adequate socialization, which makes them more adoptable.
Most of our rescued animals stay in foster homes until adoption. Fostering can be the most rewarding and fulfilling experience for you! By fostering, you are helping to save the life of an unwanted animal. Fostering also gives you and/or your own pets the benefit of pet companionship without the worries of permanent ownership! There are also times when short-term medication foster homes are needed.
