Please read the "Found a Cat?" document to make sure the cat you have found is not an owned or feral cat.

Please email a picture and description to info@allistonhumane.com for posting on our Lost and Found Facebook Page. In your email please include a picture/pictures, gender, colour, location they were found and date that you found them.

If you would like to the bring the cat into the ADHS, please email info@allistonhumane.com or call 705-458-9038. *Please note that animals will not be accepted without an appointment.

It’s roaming dog season! What do I do if I find a dog in South Simcoe County?

It’s confusing because each township provides different services and has different protocols! 

** If You Find a Dog in the Townships of Essa, Clearview, or Bradford West Gwillimbury Do This:

The pound for these townships is Alliston & District Humane Society at 5545 Concession 4, Everett, Ontario.

So how do I get a found dog picked up from my home in these townships?

Clearview: 

Clearview provides weekday and after-hours service for dog pick up. Call: 705-428-6230 ext. 272 and leave a message. A canine control officer will pick up the dog. There is also an after-hours officer who picks up messages and dogs on evenings and weekends.

Essa:  

Essa provides ONLY weekday service during office hours. Call: 705-424-9917 ext. 122 and a canine control officer will pick up the dogs. There is no after-hours or weekend service. As a courtesy, ADHS will take a dog after hours or on a weekend if the finder is willing to bring the dog to the shelter. Call and give us a heads up that you are bringing in an Essa dog 705-458-9038 or 705-890-6717. Otherwise, you will have to wait until a weekday for pick up.

Adjala Tosorontio: 

Adjala Tosorontio provides weekday and after-hours pickup. Please call 705-220-6890 and leave a message. A canine control officer will respond and pick up the dog. If you experience frustration getting a dog picked up, it’s often because the finder is calling the wrong township or the wrong number. Canine control services in all 3 townships respond as quickly as possible.

All dogs in the pound in Essa, Clearview and Bradford West Gwillimbury townships are posted quickly to this site. Please check to see if ADHS has your dog. https://www.facebook.com/ADHSLostandfound

** If you find a dog in New Tecumseth, do this:

New Tecumseth also has their own canine control service. Call 905-729-4972 to have a dog picked up in New Tecumseth. New Tecumseth dogs go to the pound at Arctic Light Kennels near Tottenham and dogs in the New Tecumseth pound can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/eric.vanloo.37
