The Community Services Recovery Fund is a one-time $400 million investment from the Government of Canada to support community service organizations, including charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies, as they adapt and modernize their organizations post COVID.
Alliston & District Humane Society is pleased to announce that we have been granted support from these funds, delivered by Community Foundations of Canada.
ADHS will use this funding to upgrade safety support for our volunteers, the security of our shelter, and modernize our technology systems to better support people and pets.
Thanks to the Government of Canada for their support of modernization and better service in the nonprofit sector. Also thank you to the ADHS grant volunteers who submit our proposals and will spend countless hours implementing our new systems and protocols.
“Community service organizations are at the heart of communities like Barrie, creating a sense of belonging from coast to coast to coast. The Community Services Recovery Fund will enable organizations, like the Alliston & District Humane Society, that serve our diverse communities to adapt and modernize their programs and services and to invest in the future of their organizations, staff, and volunteers. Together, we can rebuild from the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic and build a more just and equitable future for those in Alliston.”
– Jenna Sudds, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development
With the holiday season now upon us, it's time for our annual 'Holiday Supply Drive' in support of the Alliston & District Humane Society.
If you are able to and would like to help the homeless animals in our community this holiday, please consider picking up an extra item (or two) for the shelter!
