The Woof Walk (formerly known as the "Walk-A-Dog-A-Thon") is our annual fundraiser to support our shelter and the homeless animals in our community. Participants will fundraise by collecting online donations on CanadaHelps or by collecting using our printable pledge form. Feel free to build a team with family and friends - and most importantly have fun! We are aiming to raise $25,000 with your help. Let's make this our best "Woof Walk" yet!
Join us on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Alliston & District Humane Society Shelter for a fun-filled day. The walk will wrap around our ponds and all across our beautiful property.
Registration begins at 11am with the walk getting underway at 11:30am.
Enjoy these amazing activities at the event:
There are two options for trails that you can walk at the event, depending on your ability or preference! We have an easier 1km trail or a more difficult 3 km trail that wraps around our pond. Please be advised that our trails have uneven terrain; therefore, it is advised that you bring proper walking shoes. Strollers and wagons are welcome but may be difficult to manage on our longer trail, especially if the wheels are not designed to handle uneven ground.
Address: At the Shelter - 5545 Concession Rd 4, Everett, Ontario
Date: Saturday, June 8, 2024
Time: Registration at 11:00am, Walk at 11:30am, BBQ and More at 12:00pm
If you can't attend, you don't have to miss out! You are welcome to still fundraise online and you can participate "virtually" by posting a photo of you walking on social media with #ADHSWoofWalk on the day of the event.
Maggie is one of the many neglected, abandoned or surrendered animals flooding into ADHS this year with serious health issues.
She is an adorable friendly bulldog, only 5 years of age. Maggie was a victim of neglect and had given birth to a number of litters of puppies. When she came to us, she had a life-threatening case of pyometra. Pyometra is a serious and potentially fatal internal infection that causes animals to become very ill, with a poor appetite, lethargy, vomiting and discharge.
Her case was severe; our veterinarian was shocked she was still alive and rushed her into immediate emergency surgery.
Maggie has recovered and is now enjoying the warmth and love of her new home thanks to our donors and supporters who funded her life-saving surgery!
We encourage the community to come to this great event, to raise money for the care of our animals and help us give more animals a second chance at life. Please join us at the shelter on Saturday, June 8th and enjoy a free BBQ, games, prizes, a vendors market and more. For more information, visit our CanadaHelps page!
You can collect donations using the "old-school" pledge form. If you’re collecting cash, the forms and money must be brought to the registration table on the day of the event.
Conveniently collect donations online on CanadaHelps.org and build a team with your friends/family for more fun! Get creative with your team and put the fun in fundraising!
There are just a few days left to make your gift before the dawning of the new year! All donations of $25 or more received by December 31, 2024, are eligible for a 2024 tax receipt!
Please donate now to help provide food, shelter, medical care, and other essential costs for lost, abused, and neglected animals in need.
